Sunday June 9, 617 Kirby (Beth & Aly's house), 2:00 pm:
Parade Planning
float ideas/coordination, layout/walk the route,
plan kids events, other stuff

Thursday June 13, Moonlight, 9:30 pm:
more plotting and beer

Sunday June 16, Aly & Beth's house (?), 2:00 pm:
Workshop-type stuff, band rehearsals, thing-building.

Here is a List of Committees you could join:

Parade Committee: coordinates parade participants and parade route, obtains anny necessary city and neighborhood permissions
and permit to close the street, selects judges, and handles all areas of diplomacy, good will and world peace.

PR Committee: disseminates Kirby Derby Day information through website, emails, invites, and whatever else is appropriate,
invites other neighborhood associations, and of course, the news media

Food and Drink Committee: coordinates food and drink needs for the entire day, including various water stations, an ice cream truck,
Bengy's Tacos, securing grills and necessary grill accessories, a lot of coolers and ice, and whatever else is necessary

Music Committee: Secure band(s) and DJ'(s), and times they will play

Award/Reward Committee: Decide the criteria for parade awards, collect all awards (certificates, trophies, ribbons, prizes?)

Finance Committee: Determine ways to recover costs of the party, how to request donations, who will collect money,
possible paraphernalia to sell (like magnets and tee-shirts)

Big Picture/Big Ideas/Gopher Committee: This committee does whatever they want, whenever they want, with whomever they want.
They also get to come up with big ideas.
